Educated for Life

During my senior year at Cardinal Gibbons High School (Raleigh, North Carolina) I faced a difficult decision about my future. I had the choice of attending North Carolina State University and Clemson University; though I had other acceptances to High Point University, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, the University of South Carolina, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I watched as many of my peers from Cardinal Gibbons make their decision to continue their education in Raleigh. High school was a fantastic time in my life, but I knew it was time for change, for new opportunity.

Though I saw the benefits of attending a North Carolina institution, I found my home and my challenge at Clemson University. Having grown up in Chapel Hill, a college town with strong cultural tradition, and attending high school in Raleigh just minutes from NC State, I felt the best growing opportunity for me was to attend Clemson University. I have never regretted this decision. Attending Clemson not only gave me a thorough, well-rounded, and diverse education, being five hours from home gave me the chance to grow as an individual. Learning how to depend on myself, make my own decisions, and manage my time, attending Clemson was one of the best decisions I have ever made; educationally and personally. I have also been afforded multiple professional opportunities through the university in athletics and in the surrounding city of Greenville. I am proudly a Tarheel born and NC bred... Clemson Tiger!
